What are the requirements for applications to Platinion?
Regardless of the track you are interested in, IT Architect or IT Consultant, the minimum requirements are a completed IT-related degree and demonstrable practical experience. Some positions require several years of practical experience. We are interested in people who have analytical and conceptual skills. To work as a consultant, you will need good communication skills–in German and English–as well as intellectual flexibility, a precise and detail-oriented working style, the ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to travel. The desire to make an impact is also essential.
What are the options to start as a consultant?
At Platinion, it is possible to start at varying career levels. Platinion offers applicants with professional experience and graduates from university or technical college with practical experience the possibility to begin directly as IT Architect or IT Consultant. Naturally, applicants with several years of professional and leadership experience may have the opportunity to begin their career at a higher level, e.g., as Project Leader or Senior IT Architect.
What is the recruiting process?
You will have two or three interviews with our Platinion employees. If you manage to convince your potential new colleagues and supervisors of your competence, we will make you an offer.
What can I expect during the interviews?
We want to acquaint ourselves with suitable candidates at length. You will therefore speak with several of your potential colleagues and supervisors. By using typical case studies from our day-to-day project work, you will get to know Platinion's working methods and project types. We will also answer any questions you may have.
Can I decide which site I want to be based in, Cologne or Munich?
Platinion is planning to expand both sites. We will therefore consider personal preferences, unless there is an obvious reason for one site or the other.
Is a high willingness to travel a precondition for working at Platinion?
Working at Platinion means engagement within national and international projects. You will therefore normally work on-site with the client from Monday to Thursday. Friday is the so-called "office day" at Platinion, where, if the project situation allows, you can work for the client from your office. This makes any exchange with colleagues easier and offers the possibility to help advance Platinion's development.
Do I have a say in the projects I will work on? Can I specifically apply for projects in other countries?
Our employees are certainly welcome to express their preferences regarding their project assignment, e.g., on international projects. Where possible, these will be considered while planning the project. However, this may not always be possible, because Platinion offers its client the best suited employees with the competence required for the project.
How long do projects normally last?
The duration of the projects at Platinion varies strongly depending on project type and content. Shorter projects are normally finished within three to four weeks. When accompanying an implementation or merger, projects can also take longer than a year. In extended projects, there is normally the possibility to occasionally change the composition of the project team.
Can I decide on a specific industry or practice group?
At introductory level, be it IT Architect or IT Consultant, the affiliation with a particular practice group depends strongly on the current project. With growing experience, a specialization on a specific industry is possible and also welcome. However, especially at the beginning, it is important to us that you gain versatile experience.
How will my work be evaluated?
After the end of each project, at least twice a year, our employees receive comprehensive feedback regarding their performance. Besides project evaluation, many employees have a target agreement on objectives that will be evaluated at the end of the business year.
How can I develop professionally and personally?
We take your professional and personal development very seriously. Based on your work evaluations, we address your potential for development within regular conversations and decide with you on participation in internal and external training initiatives, allowing you to develop further in a goal-oriented manner.
Does Platinion support an MBA or doctorate?
Platinion does not have an MBA or doctorate program. However, in individual cases, there is the possibility, upon prior agreement, that we support an MBA or doctorate after a period of corporate affiliation
